Musculoskeletal & Sport

Musculoskeletal & Sport

Musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy is a bespoke service that utilises medical and anatomical assessment to help with your diagnosis, management and recovery. Flow Physio implements movement optimisation, prescribing education and corrective exercise, using our expertise in this field. We also focus very much on injury prevention apart from addressing rehabilitation after injury.

Prehab and rehabilitation are fundamental components in ensuring a return to function following surgery. From joint replacements, arthroscopies, meniscal repair, subacromial decompression, tendon reattachments to those complex ACL repairs, a structured management plan is key to ensuring best possible outcome.

Sports Massage

Promote, maintain and restore

Promote, maintain and restore

Sports massage assists in injury prevention, boosts blood flow for quicker recovery and frees up movement after exercise. It can help beat stress, ease muscle tension and boost overall wellbeing.

Use of Theragun® a percussive therapy device is designed to reach deep into the muscles and increase blood flow. With a powerful 16mm amplitude it reaches deeper than massage alone, delivering up to 40 pulses a second. This brings a whole new dimension to massage, aiming to assist in oxygenation of muscles, aid in speeding tissue recovery and is a truly invigorating experience.

Use of Theragun® ONLY if requested.

Improve overall well-being

Acupuncture is a traditional form of Chinese medicine and can be used on its own or in combination with physiotherapy to treat a range of musculoskeletal conditions for management of pain.

Acupuncture stimulates the nerves under the skin to produce endorphins and oxytocin, this helps reduce pain, aids sleep promotion and relaxation thus improving overall well-being.

Many people have recovered from Coronavirus but some unfortunately still continue to feel the effects of LONG COVID which can last for weeks or even months. The growing stream of evidence suggests that Physiotherapy is excellent in helping Long Covid sufferers recover back to normal levels of health and fitness.

We are well placed to help with back and shoulder pain, to deal with brain fog and encourage strategies to help with a paced return to exercise and activity.

Whether you have been hospitalised or self isolated with COVID-19 we can help you.

We have had experience with many patients suffering from loss of strength, heavy arms, tight chest, dizziness/balance issues and the inability to get back to their normal fitness levels.
